By the beginning of 2011 Trikk was starting to bleep heavily on my radar. First of as a member of Baliac and then on his own. Back then Ludovic was starting his own label alongside Dare2Disco which at the time was called XYZ. One of the thoughts that I’m really proud of is showing off Trikk’s music to Ludovic and saying this guy will be great. But enough of egocentric wank.
It’s my belief that “Wat U Do / All This Time” is set to be a milestone for everyone involved. Besides being Container’s first release of what you can only expect to be a brilliant label with the finest taste in electronic music, it’s the final EP Trikk will be releasing before moving on to british shores. Funny thing is that the EP actually gave me some mixed feelings of thrill and sadness with a epic aura. That kind of thing you can you only feel when something is meaningful.
This is classy house music with deep bassline, a urban groove and lovely vocal chops. It takes a little of 2Step and a little of Techno but it manages to create something new. No wonder it got George Fitzerald’s attention.
Trikk was also kind enough to let me share for free one of the very first tracks of his that woke me up to his sound. The name couldn’t be more suitable, it’s “London Haze”.

The 2 Bears (Joe Goddard of Hot Chip and Raf Rundell) have their debut album coming out on January 30Th which you can pre-order here. “Work” is their latest single. A groovy house tune about the bear necessities of life (pun intended). You can never go wrong mixing catchy pop vocals with a heavily classic house beat and some fine melodic synths. If that ain’t enough you pick up a couple of cool lads and make them deliver off the hook remixes to it and BAM! Toddla T, Oliver $, Supabeatz and Franky Rizardo on remixing duties. As a freebie you can grab “Time In Mind” of the new album as well as their winter mix.

Ok, this is one of those things you can only get to see in London. Benji B and MC Judah host one of the hottest midweek parties in town called Deviation. They were one of the guests to the Redbull Music Academy project Revolutions In Sound that took over London Eye this past October with such acts as Skream & Benga, Roller Express, Ms Dynamite, Jackmaster & Deadboy, David Rodigan and so many others. They all resulted amazingly well and you can listen to all of them here. Benji B brought a string quartet to the cabin to an amazing performance of such tunes as “Crazy Love” by MJ Cole, “Hyph Mngo” by Joy Orbison or “I Still Love You” by Switch. Watch this as it is truly remarkable!
Here’s the official video for “Evil Twin” by Modeselektor featuring Otto Von Schirach.
5kindAndBone5 are perhaps my favourite inter-racial duo of the moment. Hip hop and bass music have never been so well combined as nowadays. They’ve recently remixed Babe Rainbow’s “Greed” for an EP that is being given away by folks at Mishka featuring other artists such as LOL Boys, CFCF, Sanctums, d’Eon and Nowa Huta. They are all pretty decent takes so you should ensure that you are not sleeping on this. To wrap this up with a bow I attached Babe Rainbow’s edit of Beyoncé’s “Dance 4 U”. Enjoy

Another lovely EP is coming up on Four 40 Records. Coming out of Birmingham is James Vine also known as Enigma Dubz, a cello player that has grown into a very good producer with a keen eye for bass music. His EP is called “Hard To Smile” and it’s due to come out on January 16th featuring three original tracks. Three amazingly beautiful tunes (my favourite being “Between Me And You”) that take on garage beats with that rather simple feeling of the latest post-dubstep tracks. To make it even better, the vocal samples fit perfectly to create an enfolding atmosphere that will surely derive your mind into your own “happy place”. Big up to the artist and the label.

Old roommate of Flying Lotus and one of the biggest talents Brainfeeder has to offer, TEEBS is without any doubt one of those artists you’ve always to keep in mind no matter what year is it of whether there’s a buzz around him or not. This is the latest tune he gave away for free. Unfortunately all the 100 of them ran away quickly so you can only hope he or someone puts out another link. All his artwork has been done by him which proves that instead of “just” being a good musician he’s an overall talented artist.
TEEBS raises the bar very high for every other artist, working not only as a musician but also as painter and as a plastic artist
So fresh and so damn huge. New Teddy Music video for the brand new tune “Doomed” featuring the Newham Generals! It’s upcoming release is a 22 track shizzle called Grime: The Compilation featuring back catalogue as well as four exclusive tracks with Tempa T, Trim and Dot Rotten.
Here’s the official video of Moullinex’s “Maniac” featuring Peaches I’ve told you about a couple of days ago.
I still don’t what the fuss is all about with Lana Del Rey, I haven’t listened to her either so… Still I really enjoyed this remix by Skitzofrenix and Jeff Doubleu and they’re giving it away for free once it reaches 2012 plays. So I decided to give it a little push…

This video is just beautiful in too many ways. It’s the single “Once And For All” by Clock Opera witch will be released on the 9th of April of 2012 and you can already pre-order here.
